Not sure if this topic belongs here or not, but mind if I ask a gender question?
Fraternal twins run in my family, my DF has identical twins in his family.
He wants to have a boy first, which I wouldn't mind but we are talking about only having one kid. If we got a boy I would still want a girl, so I am secretly hoping that I end up with fraternal twins.
Anybody know of any ways that could increase those chances? Naturally, of course? I know that women who are bigger have a higher chance of carrying twins, so I am theorizing that perhaps increasing fertility can increase my chances? Is it all luck?
I am not a part of this board. but I was browsing around and found your post. I feel a little selfish for wanting twins... But I want a big family, and if I become pregnant, I would really want this to be my last time. My father has fraternal twins with his ex wife, so I am not sure if it runs in my blood or not. For some reason though, I have always felt that I am going to have twin girls at some point in my life.
I have researched it, and havent really found anything beneficial to conceiving twins so far (naturally) You may want to look at the forums though for conceiving twins... here is the link: Welcome to TTC Twins! GL and let me know if you find out anything!
EDIT: I also found in that forum, some ladies were talking about vitamins to take if you are TTC twins, and they said if you start taking 5mg of folic acid a day it is supposed to increase your chance of twins. There is also a cassava pills available now, which is a type of yam grown in africa. It has been well-known for its ability to promote overall fertility, but cassava is even more well-known for its ability to increase a woman's chances of conceiving twins.
Right now, I am currently taking Vitamin E, b6 & b12, and Folic acid to help in conceiving. FX!
