I have a 19 months old son and expecting my 2nd baby in 3 weeks. I just realized this forum and wanted to say hi, and tell you my story.
We wanted a boy first so we tried Shettles method..When i conceived my 1st son i was using OPKs and we dtd`ed the day AFTER +OPK result. (1/2 day before Ovulation)I was drinking lots of green tea(caffeine is good for boy) and having robitusissun cough syrup to help thinning my CM. Surely enough i had my son as we wanted.
This time, again that was the 1st month of trying. I had a 4 1/2 days cut-off.(it wasnt planned that way, we just couldnt dtd after that ) I was temping with FF and ovusoft. (also using opk`s again).They both confirmed the day i ovulated. It was too far from our last dtd, i thought i couldnt even get pregnant.
In addition to that i was having a bad UTI, very acidic, had to use vinegar douche all the time through Ovulation. But i tested + again. Both DH and I were shocked, how could i get pregnant with such a long cut-off? Then i realized we actually followed Shettles again for a girl unintentionally. Long cut-off, acidic environment also no O for me) So i got my hopes really high for a girl. This pregnancy was so different than my first, no morning sickness , different cravings.. But no, i am having my second boy, at first i was kinda dissappointed but now i am so excited to have him soon. I got used to the idea of having another precious son..
As you see, it worked 1st time but didnt 2nd time. I dont know what i am going to try next.
There is O+12 theory, i heard good things about it, i will look into it.
