does anyone have an idea on what this might be? he has it all over athough not so bad on the lower half and he has had no new food no new detergents no new anything and the hydrocortisone isnt helping, thanks oh its dry and raised

First let me say I am by no means a rash expert. My 3 yr old has a horrible rash all over that 3 Drs can't seem to figure out. She is on a med for a month then if it isn't clear they are doing bloodwork.

My guess is that they appear to be hives. How long have they been there? Any other symptoms/Allergies? That on his elbow looks like eczema,but his back really looks like an allergic reaction to something. Hydrocortisone has never worked wonders for us. You probably need something stronger.

I should add that my 3 year old started out with eczema at 3 months of age. We didn't know anything about food allergies until we were sent to an allergist when she was 2. She was given a small bite of a candybar with PB and threw it all up instantly. Told ped about it and she wrote script for epi pen and got us an appt with the allergist. We found out she was quite highly allergic to milk and many other things with Peanuts being the highest. I figure the early eczema was our milk allergy warning sign. I have another daughter who is just a month younger then your little one. She has been on Nutramigen (Hypoallergenic formula) since birth. Ped didn't want her on anything else b/c of older daughters history. Milk allergy is something to look into in my opinion. We also come from an allergic family so the background was definitely there.
