Hi,

I'm Natalie, 24 years old, and I too have what is known as Vitiligo. It's not serious, but can cause people to be more suceptible to skin cancer. Basically the pigment in your skin dies in bloches so you have white spots on you.

Since becoming pregnant, the vitiligo has begun to spread faster!

That bothers me...I really hope it doesn't go on my face.

Also, I have had HUGELY bad Seboric dermatitis on my head since getting preggo. It's AWFUL, and I can't get it under control. it's like the worst dandruff you could ever imagine! It's super itchy and it bleeds if you scratch at it.

So anyways, hope I can join you!

Well this is a highly genetic disorder apparently. And my Dad has it, and I have it, and a bunch of other family members like a great Aunt and a cousin and so on have it...heh heh, sorry!

Hi Natalie! I'm Michele, I'm 24 too! I don't mind if join! If its you or your child. Since your pregnant you might as well stay and talk about the chances of your baby possibly having Vitiligo or Seboric dermatitis. I would like to get to know more about it. I also have a skin problem. I get eczema patches on my hands, knees, elbows, and some other places. Welcome!

I don't care if it's you that has the disorder, as opposed to your kid. So stay! Not a lot of people here anyway! lol

I use something called P+S Baker oil/shampoo on my daughter's scalp once/week, it has salicylic acid in it. I think it works pretty well (or at least, it's made an impact) and she has some pretty thick, cradle-cap-like scales on her scalp. Maybe something to try? The bottle says it's for seborriac dermititis and other conditions like that.

Trinity had really bad cradle-cap like that too until she was 2 1/2. I wish I would have known that. lol...

it can be hard to talk about these things since they are so personal too me...and kind of a soft spot.

I have not heard of this shampoo...where do you get it?
