Hi. I am Barbi and my DD Emma Grace has eczema, inherited from DH. We have been dealing wiht since she was born. We are usually able to keep it mostly under control, though the patches never seem to go away, with Aquaphor right after after bath time. and only using soaps and cleansers with no fragrances. Also throughout the day we have to use Hydrocortizone cream all over like lotion to keep her from itching. She even has it in her hair, so we use Nizoral shampoo. When she does have an outbreak she has a steroid ointment that we have to use. IF anyone has any helpful tips that I haven't thought of please let me know.

Looking into purchasing one of the Scuci steam cleaners because she is allergic to the cleaners for around the house but havent been able to find anyone that actually purchased one and liked it.

Welcome to the group Barbi! We are glad to have you join! I don't know much about eczema on children but there are alot of girls here that do.

HI Barbi, Welcome!!! I would like to warn you about using steriod creams on your children and even on yourself... steriod creams thin the skin. My DD kendal has eczema due to many allergies. Her allergist has her on Clarinex, Singluar and Elidel. In between the elidel, he recommended crisco lard. Keeping the skin hydrated is very important, as it allows the skin to regain the pigment that the eczema takes away. (white patches left behind the break out) Have you seen an allergist?
