Erin got accepted to the Math and Science school here. Also got in to the "regular" middle school that I wanted her to attend. We decided against the math and science school. I just think she will be more challenged at a regular school. The M & S school doesn't have any honors courses and I am concerned with the class sizes there. It was a tough decision, but I think regular school is best for her. I hope we made the right decision.

I hope you did. It seems especially the older they get that everything is a decision. Sometimes you will never know which option is "right." I assume at least she will get to keep her same friends in the regular middle school so I hope that'll be a plus... I hope she will get everything that she needs there!

I think she'll be better off. M&S isn't really her thing. She'll probably be happier in a school with a better language arts balance.

You are right. Math and Science aren't her favorite. She excels in them too, of course, but not her favorite. She wants to be a writer. Surprisingly, many of her friends are attending the M & S school, but I think she will get a more "rounded" education at a regular middle school. If that makes any sense. They have band, intramural sports, and she will have more of an opportunity to achieve. I really think the M & S school would hold her back. We'll see. I can always revisit the situation after one year.

That really does sound like the better choice for her. I hope she enjoys it!

Thanks ladies! I struggle with second guessing myself all the time. Glad that you think I made the right choice.

In the end, no matter what school she goes too, I would bet that she'll excel in life regardless!
