I will be on vacation from this Saturday to next Saturday - the 6th - 13th. We are packing up the family and driving to Tennessee - the smokey mountains - for a week!! (It's a 9.5 hour drive)

Anyone ever been?

PS - Chrystal, I am sure you can hold down the fort while I am gone!!!

We went to Gatlinburg last November. It's about 8 or 8 1/2 hours from us. We definitely want to go back!

I actually like Pigeon Forge better. Not quite as crowded at Gatlinburg itself. If you can afford it, I totally recommend the WonderWorks museum. It's totally awesome!

Oh, and the Ripley's Aquarium is totally worth it, too!

I think Heather and others can handle it. Wait... how about if all the moms take a break, and we leave Hugo in charge? What do you think?

Just read this. LMAO. If he's in charge, we are all wearing swimsuits, fleece vests and hooded towels as pirate clothes with golf clubs as swords, and we're all going to the Smurfs movie, or walking the plank.

Shari, I hope you are having fun! Are you going to Dollywood? We want to go there, hopefully in 2013. I went about 15 years ago, it's a nice area.

We didn't go to Dollywood. My kids don't like amusement parks too much so we decided against spending the money. Everything there is soooooo expensive plus the 10% sales tax times six people....you get the picture. Delaware has NO sales tax, so we were shocked by 10%. We did do wonderworks, the aquarium, and they were worth it - although pricey. Did a small zoo and Magiquest that really weren't worth the money. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are way too tourist-y for my liking. We ended up going off the beaten path for a few adventures and that was more fun than anything!

Being homeschoolers really came in handy for Wonderworks and the aquarium. We got super discounts just for showing proof we homeschool.
