Just need to vent.
Yesterday the school secretary called about a minor PTA thing. (Remember I am the new Prez???) I casually ask her who my kids teachers are - since I requested the two teachers I wanted for the boys. I felt that since I am the PTA pres and I WORK there - I am going to ask for certain things.
She tells me Shane's teacher. Great. It's the one I requested.
Then she says Uh-Oh at Andrew's teacher. It's NOT the one I requested. And not even the one I would request for my dog. This is the WORST third grade teacher and I would never want my kid in her class - she has no classroom management skills. UGH. Now I am mad.
Then the secretary says, I will see you Monday. (That's the teachers first day!) I am not considered instructional staff - and only work when the kids are at school. The secretary says no, I am supposed to start Monday. Who was going to tell me that????? I even saw the principal on Tuesday at a PTA meeting and she said nothing to me.
Shortly, I am heading to the school to talk to the principal and clear all of this up. I wasn't mentally prepared to start work on MONDAY!!!
Do you have to find someone to watch the kids, or can Kelsey do it?
The principal did ask me to come in on Monday morning. Only for Monday though. That's the day she talks to staff and such. The rest of the week is inservice for teachers and getting classrooms ready. I am fine with having to be there for one day.
