I know we all have something to share!
I know the kids have moments when you do a spit-take like, "What'd they just say?!"
Hugo's always had a very advanced vocabulary and uses the words in the proper context, but lately he is killing me with understanding of concepts like "malfunctioned," "picketing," "philosophy," etc. This is his typical everyday conversation.
Well right now he just told me, "Leave me alone, Mom... I'm wallowing in my bed."
When he starts reading really well (3-6 grade level??), get him "Vocabulary Cartoons". Ben devoured all three levels in a matter of about a month. He loves them, and I'll admit... I do, too. Then you'll start hearing all kinds of crazy things come out of his mouth! And watch out for Sergio, too. Daniel picks up a TON of vocabulary from Ben!
I can't even think of specific examples, because it happens so frequently in my house. I find myself thinking "who speaks that way" often with both of my girls. And it isn't in a negative kind of way...it's more like I'm in awe and wonder where in the world they heard the words they use.
