I can access Erin's grades online and I wanted to see how she was adjusting to middle school.
She has over 100% averages in every class. Her ELA (English Language Arts) is 120% and her Science is 140%. She apparently has done extra work to warrant extra credit. I have been teasing her, 100% just wasn't good enough for the over achiever, she had to get higher. I am happy that she has good grades, but she said everything is easy and none of her classes are hard. I thought she might get challenged a little more in middle school but that doesn't seem to be the case so far.
She is in the highest math too. She is in Algebra. (It's normally not taken until 8th grade) If she passes it this year she won't have to take it in high school. Next year would be geometry and she would be in Algebra II in 8th grade. She has four people in her Algebra class.
In a side note - she has joined student council. She is trying out for wind ensemble for band (she's already in band). She has joined book club, and is waiting to try out for the play. Not making the volleyball team didn't discourage her in any way.
