My kids have different chores for different days. With four of them, they all get various jobs each day of the week. I don't pay them either. It's part of being in a family and a fact of life. Everybody helps. Trust me, they love it. LOL
So far mine are only responsible for cleaning up their own messes, taking the bath toys out of the tub, putting clothes in the hamper and putting dishes in the sink. They help prepare food too. When we finally get moved they are going to have more to do with laundry and trash.
The baby only has to help put his toys away, but Mia has a bunch. She empties the dishwasher and sets the table, helps put away laundry, is responsible for her lunch and things like that. I don't pay her either but we have a point system. She gets no points for things she has to do, like the dishwasher, but can earn points by doing extra things. The points can be cashed in for various privileges and stuff. Works pretty well.
