The tour went well. I was hoping I'd feel strongly one way or the other though, and I am still undecided. On the positive side, everyone was really nice, the kids were engaged, and I loved the looks of their curriculum. On the negative side, the school itself was older and run-down, and has many of the budget issues of their current school. Which makes sense since they are in the same district, but it is still sad to see. They also have a waiting list for the TAG program at all age levels, meaning Beth just got in by luck in the lottery. Little Matt will be old enough to go when he is in second grade (one more year) and likely test in, but there's no way to know he'll get into the lottery. I think it's too bad they don't have to spots for all TAG students. Anyway, the teacher recommended we accept the slot, and said it was fine if she changed our minds over the summer. I think that is what I am going to do, as the deadline to accept is coming up.
