I found out today that B has been going to specials (like PE and music) with other classes in addition to her own. She really knew the first grade material before the year started, so no reason to learn it all again I guess. They have not differentiated for her at all. I don't really mind if she goes to the other specials, as she's better off getting some exercise than doing nothing at her desk, but I can't believe they didn't even tell me about it. Oh well, 13 more days....

Yes, that's what it sounds like. She is a bit flakey and never said anything. I just caught on today because she mentioned playing volleyball with a friend I know is in another class. I asked her about it, and she told me she goes to all the PE classes and the music ones too.

Maybe she knew you'd throw a fit and wanted to continue going to those classes?

OMG!!!! I can't believe that! That would never happen in my school district. But, I can imagine, if I'd had that option as a kid I probably would have been happier than sitting in the class zoned out.
Still, I would throw a fit and insist on some differentiation.

Love your new siggies by the way... both of you...

I know...I told my husband than at seven years old this would just be awesome. I'm not even going to say anything. Two weeks (after this one) left and that is it. Nothing they would say would make a difference at this point...I've been around and around with these people, and none of my kids will be returning to this school in the fall. I figure I might as well let B have her fun for now.
