Erin has finally officially started her new school! She LOVES it! She enjoys using her laptop at school and uses it in every class. She is studying her Spanish this weekend so she will be able to recite her ABC's and days of the week. LOL She loves the teachers that she has had so far (they have a rotating schedule, so she hasn't had all of her classes yet). I am so glad that she is happy and I even see her doing homework! She has an hour after school to get it done before I pick her up, but she still is finishing when we get home. She is allowed to use her kindle at school (she never was before) and she loves the freedom she has at this school. They just eat lunch together in the cafeteria and all food is homemade each day and they have a salad bar! They also get a break at 10 each morning where they can go to the cafe an purchase homemade muffins or fruit to tide them over until lunch. She can eat her lunch outside if she wants!

After her first day she was on her laptop oovoo'ing (oovoo is a website that you download something similar to skype - but it allows up to 12 people to talk at once) and when I walked in she was talking to three girls. I asked her who those people were and she just said - my friends from school. well duh. She is adjusting well, not that I thought she wouldn't, and she seems to be making friends and adjusting well.

One cool thing they have is a water dispenser for filling up water bottles. When you fill up a water bottle, there is a display number that changes to tell you how many bottles you have saved from the landfill. The number changes each time you refill. She finds that awesome!

I can't wait to see how they keep her challenged as the year goes on.

That's awesome! I'm so glad you were able to do this for her.
