I'll be cross posting this in a few places, because I want as many people as possible to see this book I'm reading and possibly get it for themselves.
Well first off, I am not a Mom to a special needs child, however I have a SPED minor and have worked in a severe needs school. I love to read books on education, especially special education.
I was in the library the other day and happened to find the book "A Different Kind of Perfect" by Cindy Dowling.
There are chapters about the different feelings parents can have about special needs children, and then there are stories in each chapter from parents and their experiences raising their children. It's such a heartfelt, strong book. I'm loving it. It's written incredibly well. I almost think every parent who has a child identified as special needs should be forced to read it just to see that they aren't alone.
So if you could find it at a store near you or library, I HIGHLY recommend it.
