Does any one have kids 3-5 who have gone through neurological testing for developmental delay, speech impairment, or autism concerns?
My 4 year old just went through some, and I would just like a sounding board to compare how his testing went, and share/vent.
My son was originally just diagnosed with a speech impairment, but it was obvious to us he had an developmental delay too. We were unsure if it was environmental (due to situations out of our control, he had been living with my elderly mother and sister for awhile, and they treated him more like a 1 or 2 year old, instead of a 3, nearly 4 year old), or if it was a genuine concern he needed help for.
He went through a Mullen test, as well as a CARS test, and I'm just looking for someone to talk to about all of this. My husband is very suspicious about his kiddo getting diagnosed prematurely with something he may "grow out of" and doesn't quite get it, so I could use someone to just bounce info back and forth off of. Thanks!
