Hi there, my youngest has dyslexia (we're still fighting for an IEP but I think we're right at the end of the process). One of my older daughters was a "late bloomer" which in reality was the eye-brain-nerve connection didn't develop until she was 8 years old. Then she took off reading. My youngest, not only has dyslexia but she also had issues with late development of the eye-brain-nerve connection. So she had a twofer. She's now reading much better but still having issues with the dyslexia. BUT her grades this year so far are excellent (for her!) ... all B's and one A! I feel thankful that the teacher she has not only worked with dyslexic students previously but has a whole classroom full of learning disabled kids so my daughter doesn't stand out AT ALL! The teacher is amazing, making each child feel special and proud of the accomplishments they make on their own timetable, and my daughter loves school again So anyway, that's us.
