Do you think intervention (before a child is 3) is beneficial?

absolutely. i think it prevents further delays.

I agree, but I meet so many people who just don't get it. They'll say things like, "My child is only 14 months, why would they need speech therapy?"

I definately agree that EI is beneficial. I can't imagine how much further behind Alexis would have been without EI. I don't understand how some parents don't get it though. To me, every benefit that Alexis needs, I will make sure she gets. If she's delayed (well she is) I would do everything I could to help her catch up and prevent her from falling further behind.
