Have you ever tried play groups for your kids?

I was thinking about maybe trying to set up something with the parents and kids in Alexis' special ed class, but don't know if that would go well. Has anyone tried that? Or should I just try maybe one or two kids? There are 9 of them all together.

How old is she again?

When Hunter was first diagnosed S&L Impaired, he went to a special needs playgroup, but that was probably because he wasn't old enough for pre-school.

I didn't do anything after he started preschool because it was three days a week and in the beginnng, that was enough for him. It was a rough time; it took him three weeks to get used to pre-school and regressed over holiday breaks.

She 5 right now, 6 in April. She's been in school 5 days a week for over 2 years, and I can't seem to do enough with her on the weekends. I think she gets bored.

When Abby was little (around 2 and 3) I used to babysit a couple of days a week so she had a couple little ones at the house besides her. I also took her to PT once a week where she worked with 2 or 3 other kids that were around her age. Once she started school, we didn't do anything else because she was very overstimulated. We tried having friends over and her over to friends houses but it never worked very well because she was so mean to her company. I only allowed her to go to a certain friends house and it was a little girl who had some issues like my dd so the mom "got it" and was able to deal with it. Presently, dd is without friends and her mood is not stable enough for us to try to have anyone over at this time. She does some social skill practice at school and I think that she's had enough by the time she gets home after school. She doesn't want to invite anyone over because she doesn't want to share them with the rest of the family
