At the malls they have the T Mobile stands or stores. I swear them sales people there are the rudest, snottiest arrogant and pushy people I ever met. Everytime I go to the mall or am somewhere T Mobile is being sold. Them sales people will stop me asking me about my cell phone useage and service. They will step right in front of you. Can I ask you a question or 2. They'll usually ask if you own a cell phone and what company are you with. Today the T Mobile guy got in my face big time. I said yes I have a cell phone. It is Verizon. Are you happy with it. I rudely back said Yes. Thank You and good day. Then continued walking on down the mall. Those salespeople have been seen to literally follow you down the mall to ask you questions. A really hard sales pitch I guess. Then the other week they stopped my supervisor at some mall. She was with her 4 yr old son. The sales guy stepped right between them as she was holding her ds's hand. They unlock hands and are separated. Her ds is walking away down the mall. The T Mobile guy says can I talk to you. She said no. He gets more pushy. She says I got to go. My ds is wandering off. He gets more pushy. She tells him I got to go. Finally gets rude to her. Well then grab your holiday packages and get out of here. Her ds is part way down walkway. She grabs him. Went back to tell off that sales guy. Says how dare you let my son get away from me. In seconds someone could kidnap him and I'd never see him again. She said she'd be reporting this to the corporate offices to whoever is in charge. They seem to do whatever it takes to get a new customer. Then today that T Mobile guy sees me talking to the Verizon people. Our son had gotten a pre paid phone for Christmas from Verizon. But the phone was missing the battery cover. So I was exchanging the phone. T Mobile seen that. They tried again swaying me over to buy something from them. I said Thank you but no Thank You and good day. Then proceeded with dh to leave the mall.
I have a friend that works from TMobile, and she said they actually get bonuses if someone really does follow through with a threat to complain about them being pushy cuz it means they are "doing their job"....

Corperate retail in general sucks. Thats what those guys are, basically. They do the retail end - selling/pushing product.
Sometimes it's an incentive thing where they get bonuses if they do that kind of crap, but sometimes it's more of a threat-system. If they DON'T do it, they could loose their job.
I remember a retail job I had about a year and a half ago with a large corperate chain store. They had 'Secret Shoppers'. People from the company who would come into the store and act like just some random customer. If you didn't say these exact lines or push these exect products just the way you were supposed to, you got written up and lost 'points'. Loose too many points and you loose your job.
So as annoying and irretating as these people may be, they may be doing it because if they don't they'll loose their job.
