My MIL comes over to our house once a week (or once every other week) to watch gabriella and help us out. She lives an hour and 45 mins away so its her time to spend with her. I do NOT expect her to cook or clean our things when she is here (actually I would prefer her not to) however today when I get home from taking the girls to school she had 3 dirty diapers laying on the FLOOR right NEXT to gabby's diaper pail but she coudln't put them in there becuase she was too busy cuz gabby wanted to play. I picked up the living room and kitchen while I was home when dh came back home from work there were toys EVERYWHERE in the living room and the play room had all the puzzles and books out all over the floor so I got to re pick everything up. Would you mention anything or should I just leave it alone? IDK, I really appriciate her coming up and watching her because it does help but I don't want to come home and have to pick up after them either. KWIM? I do enough picking up the way it is!

I personally wouldn't say anything. If my mom was able to watch my kids regularly like that, I would happily pick up after them and my mom. There have been times when I've come home from work (when I was working at Target) and Ken was with the girls and there were a bunch of diapers on the floor and the house was a complete wreck... many times, actually . Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Yeah thats very true I didn't think of it like that. My mom is NOT the type to come over and help out so I am very greatful. Its not like the house is a disaster just like comeo n pick up after yourself ya know what I mean. I'll just go w/o saying anything because I don't want to upset her plus only 7 more days of work anyways, then when I am home all the time when they are here it wont be as big of a deal. I just was crabby and didn't wanna deal with that at 9pm last night after getting up at 5am!

I would probably gripe about it to DH but leave it at that lol Like Carol if I had the free weekly help I would happily clean after them. It's added work for you but at the same time she's helping you out. I would probably be irritated as well though.

Ya'll should move to Georgia then you could watch my girls while I studied lol and you wouldn't have to worry about driving them all over town either

I actually did say something to my MIL once...but it was more to the effect of, "Do you think you could help me teach Emma how to put her toys away when she is finished playing with them." That way, it doesn't sound like you want her to do it, rather, you want to teach your child to clean up after herself.

As for the dirty diapers...that's a battle I'm losing with DH every day he's with Em. I get home and there is a pile of dirty diapers on the floor in her room. Drives me nuts.
