Hi ladies,
I'm looking to start weaning my son - for personal reasons. He is 5 months old (and a whopping 20lbs) and I would like to have him weaned by the end of July. His feeding schedule is like this:
630am - bf and cereal (pump one side)
930am - bf one side, sometimes a bit of the other
1230ishpm - bf the other side, again, sometimes both sides
3ishpm - bf the other side, maybe both
5ishpm - bottle, no pumping. I was giving him 6oz but that doesn't seem to be enough so I'll try 8oz today. I chose this feeding to bottle b/c it seems to be the 'witching hour' at the house and its a big help if DH can feed.
8ishpm - nurse both sides, then bed until 630am
What should be my plan of attack? Any suggestions? I was going to give another bottle at the lunchtime feeding next. Again, a busy time for me as my daughter is usually bugging for lunch.
I've got 2 grocery bags of milk in the freezer.
I would also like, by the end of july to have him on formula. Do you think the weaning and switching should be ok?
All the bottles I give him are breastmilk at the moment.
Thanks!!!
