does your child have a comfort item like a teddy or lovie?
do you think it makes them feel more secure in certain situations?

Yes. She has a blankie, a curious george doll, and a snuggly tiger named Hobbes. She has to have them to sleep with and also when she's upset.

I think they help a lot. She is able to develop ways to comfort herself. Once she started doing this she stopped nursing for comfort. My little girl is growing up!
