Well, ladies, it's official, I had my last nursing session with DD today...before we nursed, I told her, "Sweatheart, this is our last time doing this, Mommy loves you very much and would love to continue, but you need a mommy who is healthy and strong. So, this is going to be our last time nursing." She nursed like a champ, both sides and then fell asleep with me for a 3 hour nap together

It was very bitter sweet, I just worry about my sore bb's over the next few weeks...

Anyhow, it's on to BM bottles once a day and formula the rest of the time for her.

Thought you'd all be proud of me.

Sounds like an amazing last session - how great that you were able to nurse her for as long as you did and make the last session so special too.

Lots of
I hope that you are able to get relief from your pain now!

Congrats for making it this far!! Sounds like your last nursing session was very special to you

How many sessions were you doing per day? I was EBF and stopped overnight, on day 1 of no nursing, I pumped 4 times through the day, 2oz each time, day 2 I pumped 1oz each of the 4 times, and day 3 nothing, no pumping or nursing. I would say I was uncomfortable for about 4 or 5 days. But then was fine thereafter. Wear a tight fitting bra... in bed as well as through the day.

KUP on how you go?

Thank you!
Starting on Sept 15th, I started entertaining the idea of weaning (after I met with the pelvic specialist) I gave her the first taste of formula on Sept 17th... Sept 22nd I made the decision to wean and started the process...she was nursing at that time 12-16 times/day. Over the past 2 1/2 weeks, I cut out feedings, like 1 a day...we were down to just night nursings as of Thursday (3 to 4 times/night). Friday, I cut it to 1 time/night, then yesterday (Saturday) we had our last session (daytime so we could both enjoy it) and that's it.

There's no going back now!!! (The medicine is harmful to babies thru BM and now that I've begun it... no way I can nurse her).

I'm wearing the tight bra and have tried the crushed cabbage leaves (only at night due to the smell )...I had to express a bit in the shower this morning to take the edge off... that's the update for now...any more advice or tips would be great!

Apparently sage tea helps to dry up your milk. You have done it well by cutting down gradually, I shouldn't expect you will suffer for too long. I did it quite sudden... long story short, Kirsty refused bottles for months & months so when she accepted it once I kind of pushed it as I didn't want to break the acceptance, KWIM? But in hindsight, she was absolutely ready.

KUP on the boobies!!
