Hello,
Im Danielle and my 4th and last baby is now 8 months old. I told myself that I would EBF for 6 months and well 6 months came and went, so did 7 and now 8 months... and I am ready to wean but it seems he is not...

He is a snacker, grazer, all night feeder and co sleeper. He is eating "food" (baby food, gerber snacks and baby Mum Mums) but he still nurses alot. He refuses to take bottles even the Adiri bottles.. he will take a cup but only if he wants it and only if it has juice or water in it.

He uses the boob as a comforter and paci (pretty much) most of the time. He will cry for the boob and suck for a few mins and then turn to see whats going on in the house. At night before bed and a few hours after he wakes up he will eat until I am completely empty on both sides but alot of the he just "snacks". He also eats (like I stated before) off and on all night...

I thought I would be done with BFing by now and he just seems so reluctant to wean... Any ideas? He is so strong willed and he takes alot of comfort in BFing.

Thanks in advance ladies!!

Hi Danielle, welcome to the board

A lot of what your describe in your son is what I experienced with Kirsty at 6.5 months - all day snacker, 2-3 feeds per night, distracted nurser and reluctant to take any bottle.

How often do you offer a bottle?
What do you offer in the bottle? (formula, BM, water?)
Do you do it or does someone else?
Do you/someone else hold him - if so, what position do you hold him in?
