What is your baby's comfort item? Paci? Blanket? A cuddly toy?
How often do they "need" it?
If it's a blanket/cuddly toy, do they have it as & when or do you keep it in their bed for naptime/bedtime?

Karl's is a small soft ball if he's tired or grumpy he'll hold it or rub it on his head.

That's the way to start it though, by giving it to them for sleep times. Just that common item in bed with them!

I hope she does want it eventually as it was bought for me just before I was born, so she'll always know her ted is as ancient as her mother!!

Awwww that's really sweet that it's been passed down!! Give her time, she will get used to it!

Kirsty's comfort item is a muslin square, she adores it and is quite attached altho I only found this out last week when she was put to bed by DH without her "nankie". She wouldn't settle at all, I went in and realised she didn't have it, gave it to her and she didn't make another sound, just went right to sleep! She usually only has it in her cot for sleeptimes, but the past few days she has been a little more attached to it.
