At Alex's 3 month checkup, his pediatrician said that we can start cereal anytime now.
Isn't 3 months a bit too early?
Alex was 1 month premature so I was orignally thinking that we would wait until at least 6 months. He is currently drinking about 27 - 30 oz of formula a day and seems to be gaining weight and growing fine.
Is Alex 3 months old now or 3 months adjusted age? My personal feeling is it is a bit young, the recommendation here in the UK is 4-6 months.
Does he suffer with reflux? I know that can be common with preemies, and often cereal is advised to help reduce the reflux (so I've read here on JMs anyway, but that's something to discuss with your ped). What do you feel? If you don't feel it's time for that, then you don't have to start. He's your bubby, you can choose what to do and when
