Let's chat it up ladies. Talk about anything you want in here.

I'll start us off by saying, do you do anything for your kids "half birthday"? I have heard of some people that do is why I ask.

No half birthdays here. We just celebrate the actual thing. This year DSD opted to go home, again. So we didn't celebrate for her the way we usually do. I want to go see Wicked on Broadway for mine next week.

I have heard of that too where there are half birthday parties which just seems rediculous especially seeing as I have 4 kids so that would total 8 parties a year. yikes! I will point out to them that they are officially a half but that is about it.

I honestly don't see the point in them. I get that some people do it cause the kid has a winter birthday or one on a holiday. But it's a bit much if you ask me.

^^This, pretty much exactly, though I haven't heard of the parties before...I have just heard of like doing something fun as a family or something.

heck no. If I did a half birthday because baby was born on christmas I would do a 6 mo then 18 mos then 2.5 etc, not BOTH, noooooooooooooooway. Gracie's half b-day is on christmas so she might think we're celebrating it if she wanted to have a big head lol.

See but from what I've gathered. The parents that do half birthdays do it because for some reason or another their child cannot have a party with their "school friends" so they do the half. Still think it's overkill. lol If it was a simple lets do something nice just us during the nice weather, then I would be OK with it. But all I've seen have been full blown parties. Umm no way too much money, I'm not rich. This baby will most likely never have a party with their school friends, and that's OK by me. Less kids to clean up after. LOL

Awww, Nick's family didn't do parties with their school friends, but I loved mine, so we will always do them.

We're only 4 days for Courtney's half birthday today...I believe hers is getting celebrated cuz she has a summer birthday so this is when they do it at school. Idk if they really do much to celebrate it other than mention it, she said it was on the birthday chart.

Because those kids would be left out, only the kids who have birthdays in the school year would ever get celebrated if they didn't.

Almost none of mine do...and this will make it 4 out of 5 that have it on summer vacation, well unless baby is incredibly nice to mama!

Is there a FB group for this board? All of my other boards have gone to FB and died here.

I've thought about making one, but I hate that, I hate that the boards die on JM, so that's part of why I haven't. If it would get people all chatting though I guess I ought to make one.

Feel better soon, my mom just got diagnosed with pneumonia.

And I agree the death of the boards due to fb groups is sad to me. Though I wish they would combine some of the boards, I don't like when you can go to a board for like a week and maybe there is one new thread...don't they have hosts to fix that? I was sure part of our job was starting new threads...again, bad mood, whining.

the person I was host with started the facebook page and all the members floated over there. Not everyone was in agreeance with the replacement cohost when the host was let go so it killed off the room. I still try and get it moving even though I a not a host anymore but no luck. boowoo
