Birk is having surgery this Friday. It's about time too, since this kid has been sick more or less the whole month of January. He started with scarlet fever, then a couple days after he got over that he got bronchitis, and this weekend he got another ear infection. Hopefully with the surgery he won't have so many ear/nose/throat issues.

We'll go straight to my parents cabin after he's been released from the hospital, for the weekend. I'll update if I get a chance before we leave, if not I'll update on Sunday.

He's had the surgery once before, he's getting tubes in his ear btw for those of you who don't know. Hopefully this time they'll stay put and help him hearing properly and not get so many ear infections. It's an outpatient stay and a minor surgery but blah... I can't wait for it to be over and done with and have my kiddo with me again. Kudos to you moms who deal with longer surgeries and hospital stays, I have no idea how you do it!

Hugs, hon - I'll be thinking of you guys! It doesn't matter that it's a shorter/outpatient/etc surgery - ANY surgery on a child is totally nerve wracking.

T&Ps for you and Birk! I hope it helps! Addy had to repeat her eye surgery for clogged tear ducts. Even though it was a minor surgery too, I was stressed and glad when it was over. Hugs!

Ahhh, we are back home, and doing good. Trip to the cabin got cancelled because we got buckets of snow today. Birk did well in surgery, but had a rough time as he was waking up from being under. Not fun at all. But we were in good hands, the staff were so helpful and sweet.

Since the cabin got cancelled and it was something Birk was really looking forward to, we are spending the night at my parents house, just to do something special. He thought that was a good switch

Now, let's just keep our fingers crossed that he'll keep this tubes in place for more than 6 wks!
