I'm just now getting around to painting and decorating the girls room.
I've had woodland animals for awhile but not so sure I should stick with it or do something else.
What have you done with in your kiddo's room?

Keller went from a sailboat nursery to a pirate kids room - that way I could reuse a bunch of stuff but it was still way "cooler" he says. haha.

I was thinking of using similar colors( pinks, browns, greens). That way as they get bigger I can just change up the theme a bit.
I was kind of hoping to get something that would last a few years. I'm sure in the next few years they might want something a bit more girly. I guess I could stick with a pink shade for the walls and go with butterflies, fairies or something along those lines.

I call Carrie and Beth's room the pink nightmare....they love it, lol. We've added butterflies since I took this pic...the butterflies I do like.
This is Matt's room...he has a "big boy bed" now.
Katy's room is lavendar with animals from the Brown Bear, Brown Bear book on the walls.

The girls' bedroom is painted a light purple (lilac) color. They picked it themselves about a year ago when we moved here. The furniture is allll white. I love it. It's very girly and not baby-ish. They have different kinds of things on the wall - photos, art-work holders, bow holders, necklace holders, Natasha's school awards, etc.

The boys share our space room now - medium blue walls with orange accents and some space/rocket accessories, with one wall painted navy with a lunar sort of landscape on the bottom, stars, planets, and a rocket ship. Eric loves it - Danny could care less, LOL. The other room is still our Winnie the Pooh themed nursery; we'll probably re-do it into a tween/teen room in another 3-5 years.

Leah's room needs an update - we're thinking maybe next year for her 5th bday. Right now, it's still yellow and Pooh-themed.

Ethan has a mural with bears playing baseball on one wall and the rest of the walls are blue. It's not babyish so I think it'll stay for a while. Plus dh did so much work on it, I think he's going to cry when Ethan decides he doesn't want it anymore.
Mason has a jungle mural with yellow walls. He's not in his room yet and we still have to put up shelves and stuff. His room isn't babyish either so he should have it for a while.

Mia just got her own room a few months ago when my mom moved in with my brother so we had fun decorating her room. It's a pink princess room. Everything is pink except the walls and furniture. We're still not done with it. We have a few more things to hang up but we're slow at getting around to it. Even after a few months of having it, Mia still walks in there and says how much she loves her new room.

I think we are going to move Maya into her own room soon. She definitely wants an outer space theme. And blue walls. Thinking about the glow stars on the ceiling, not sure what else. Sofia has informed me she wants a PINK room, of course. She does not want to keep the green.

Cooper's room hasn't changed since he was a baby, and since it was never really baby-ish I don't see much need to change it right now. It's a blue, brown and tan color scheme. I don't think he realizes we can change it so I'm leaving it as is for now

I just painted my older boys' room and I decided to not go with a theme at all. It lasts so much longer if it's just a colour, and then I can coordinate different accessories. So their room is a sandy tan colour and they have a lot of camo stuff (bedding and the like). The younger boys' room is half blue half brown. When Reid was a baby I decorated with sheep accessories but when he outgrew it, I just put all the sheep stuff away. So easy and I was glad not to have to re-paint!

Kate's room is painted purple and that's it. her furniture matches and she has a bunch of toys on there. I don't really do themes for the bedrooms, they change their minds so much that I figure a paint color that we can coordinate with works best for us. We are in the process of separating Lily and Julia, so we've been talking about redecorating both of their rooms...

This is us with our Winnie the Pooh mural too!! DH did it back before Eric was born, he worked SO hard on it and did SUCH a good job, and he's already starting to mentioning with this sad tone of voice that we'll have to paint over it in a few years. LOL.
