She's actually pretty good I find that if we sit closer to the front where she can see everything, she behaves MUCH better than if we sit at the back where all she sees are the backs of people's heads. She likes looking at the hymn books and missals attached to the pew in front of her, sometimes she stacks them in a nice little tower lol, but as long as she does it quietly, that's all that matters.
No Sunday school; she'll start attending a Catholic kindergarten in September and religion is part of the curriculum.

Danny is our church's exception and is allowed in the nursery even though he is over 3 now. He comes in for communions, and often we have to put him on DH's shoulders to keep him from running up onto the altar. It's kind of fabulous We haven't even bothered trying Sunday School, it would just be more of a battle than it would be a benefit for him. One of the ladies in our congregations is a former speech-language pathologist and has volunteered to shadow Danny during VBS so he can try to attend... I don't think he's going to get much out of it, but they all want him to be a part of it SO badly that we're willing to try.

Thank you Jaidynsmum for the siggy!
We have a pretty awesome childrens program. I take her upstairs for that during the service. They do worship just like we do except it is songs they know. We attend a weekly bible study that has a lot of other kids too. The kids range in age so they amuse themselves while we do our bible study. (which is actually tonight and Kate can't wait.)

Carrie does really well. We all sit in the service together for about 40 minutes, then she goes to children's church for the last twenty. My older three always sit still and listen, but sometimes I have to take Katy out for a break. I love that our current church lasts only an hour...I don't think that's too much to ask for the kids.
Ava is too medically high risk for Sunday school so she goes to the main service with me. She sits quietly and plays with the Ipad the entire time. I really can't complain.
Jack loves Sunday school and has started asking to go on non-Sundays. He sits in service with us till the Children's story then goes off with the other kids.
On Sunday mornings Elijah spends the service in the nursery. Sometimes we bring him in for opening music and the children's sermon and then take him down to the nursery, but he actually prefers to go and play. He's not old enough to attend children's church yet (kindergarten). Over the summer we are going to start bringing him in more and more though since he's really supposed to be in service with us now. He goes to his own Sunday School class too. On Sunday nights he goes to Mission Friends and on Wednesday nights they do Cherub Choir while we all have Life Groups and Prayer Meeting. He loves church though and every morning when he gets up asks if we go to church today!

We are still having that battle with Eric, Miranda. There is one other boy that goes to the nursery off and on that's just turned 5, and so Eric thinks he needs to as well even though he should be in service with us.

Mackenzie and i will be starting in the summer. I have put off church for a while now, becuase i dont want to go by myself or by myself with a toddler. DH is not a church guy, and i dont force it on him. But Mackenzie started a catholic preschool and we will start going once i am not pregnant and can handle sitting still for an hour for one, and am with a child who knows how to sit still. Plus all her friends will be there, so i think she will really like that.
Once Charlie is a bit older, i will start bringing him with as well, he will be familiar with the area as well, since he starts school in August.
Bella goes to the nursery. Sometimes I will let her sit with me during the song service then escort her directly to the nursery.
Ellie on the other hand loves going to childrens church while I sit in the regular service. A few weeks ago she asked if she could stay with me. No big deal. She looked through the hymn books and drew on a piece of paper. Right before the service was over she looked up at me and said " Is that guy ever going to quit talking?" It took all I had to not laugh out loud.
If we go to the Early service, David goes with us. If we go to regular service David stays with us until Children's church starts. He goes to Sunday School and choir on Wednesday nights. He loves it and does really well.
Our kids start at Sunday School then come into the service for offering and communion and the closing hymn. They are there for about 20 minutes and normally well behaved. However Paulie sits with us the whole time, we don't have a nursery and he never lasts for the whole time. He can be quite stubborn and defiant so we usually need to take him out for a "time-out".
Yeah Kel, there are a few kids that go to nursery even though they aren't supposed to and of course they are Elijah's friends. I really don't think the workers mind especially since our worship pastor's oldest kid is the same age as Elijah and has to stay in there b/c he and his wife both sing during worship. However, John was elected Deacon this year so I feel sort of bad breaking the rules since we are supposed to be a "model" family. Whatever that means...LOL
