Does your LO have them often? How do they recover from them?

Poor Danny has them now and then - not full out night terror, he recovers pretty quickly, but he'll wake up just crying and screaming and won't calm down without some cuddling and reassurance. I wish I knew what they were about so I could help him talk through them!

Aw, poor thing!

I don't think nightmares have happened too often for Brennan, but a few nights ago he woke up crying really hard (he'd been asleep for maybe 2 hours). DH went up and apparently Brennan said a cow with horns scared him and he wanted daddy to make it go outside. So DH took care of it and Brennan was fine quickly after that.

Sofia just had one last night. She's actually had a couple lately and now she can tell me about them. Last night was pretty bad she just couldn't back to sleep for a long time. Last night's was someone was chasing her- couldn't tell if it was Maya or someone else The other night she had a freaky one, she SWORE that one of her classmates was on the wall- like his face maybe?? She was convinced that was real, poor girl!

Oh, and here is one thing I will NEVER forget! Once when I was little- probably 4 or 5- I had a bad dream, this huge spider was coming down on me. Well, my father told me to go back to sleep, you never have the same dream twice. Um, yeah. I had the SAME dream again.

I had a recurring nightmare around that age too, Heather! We'd just had a massive tornado come through and destroy a nearby neighborhood, and for like a month afterward, I had this dream where there was a big tornado outside, and I was in my bedroom and this small cyclone was chasing me around the house destroying everything. I remember having it at least 3 times

Yes! Not too often, but ive noticed if she is particularly spooked about something, we have a bunch of bad nights where mom and dad have to end up sleeping in there at 2am when she wakes up panicking.

Kate went through a horrible phase of night terrors and anxiety last year, but things have definitely turned around and she doesn't seem to have any nightmares anymore
