How do you ladies keep track of your spending? I tend to use my debit card a lot. With the move I haven't been keeping a check book. But now I keep stressing that I am forgetting something. What do you guys do to keep things organized?

Dh has it all set up on his phone. I use the debit card for everything, and he gets a text message each time I use the card and then enters it into his phone app for balancing the checkbook.

We keep track of everything in our checkbook. When our bank statement arrives each month, DH goes over it and matches everything to the checkbook to make sure we didn't miss anything. Every once in awhile, we check our account online as well - especially around tax refund time to see when it's been direct deposited, etc.

We do everything online, we even opted out of having the bank statement mailed to us because it's just extra paper, where we can easily view it all online whenever we want to. We usually sit down once a week and fill an Excel spreadsheet that DH created with whatever we spent that week. I update it during the week too but together we just make sure we didn't miss anything. We pretty much have a budget for everything! We both use debit card 90% of the time, DH uses cash for work lunches, and credit cards mostly for online purchases, although now many websites have the direct-debit option which is kinda cool.

I'm very anal about keeping track of everything. We use a debit card 95% of the time and always write everything in the checkbook. Then I check it online about every other day to make sure nothing was missed. If I'm off even by a penny it drives me crazy. We don't get the statement mailed because I just do it all online.

We do all of our banking online so we never get a statement.
Most of our spending is from a debit card so we can track it day to day. I don't look everyday but definitely every week. Then I transfer all info to a spreadsheet that I made years ago.

making a spread sheet sounds like a good idea. Something I think I will work on tonight. We are much more aware of our spending and I am determined to keep on saving where ever I can. It is so hard to figure out and stay on track of wants verses needs.
