Lately Ellie has been snickering and even laughing when she gets in trouble.
I mean, she's laughing when I try to discipline her.
It's getting very frustrating and I'm not really sure how to deal with it.
If I verbally reprimand her and she starts it, I send her to Time-out. Then if it happens again when I send her to TO she has to go sit in her room on her bed.....and so on.
Yet, that doesn't seem to get her to stop. I'm sure it will pass but I still need to deal with it now so she knows it's not OK in the future.

Maybe she's just nervous? I'm queen of the nervous laughter. If she's literally just laughing in your face to be rude I guess I'd leave her in her room until she is ready to give a nice apology.

I guess it's the first time I've ever had anyone do it back to me. I guess it's so frustrating b/c it's my own child. Plus, I want her to listen and not giggle.

I giggle when someone gets hurt. It is terrible and definitely the worst time to have a nervous laugh. But Donovin has laughed when I have been trying to discipline him as well. It is so frustrating. But I am sure he knows it and keeps trying to do it more and more.

Sounds pretty normal for their age, as Brennan is doing it too lately. It is frustrating!

Addy has laughed when people are hurt, and I try to explain emotions to her. She is usually to ticked at us when we discipline her to laugh. It sounds frustrating!

All my girls have gone through a phase when they laugh at me when I put them in time out or discipline them. I ignore it and go about my business. When the time out is over they are expected to apologize for the behavior and for laughing.
