Do you like to have campfires going through the summer? We just bought a fire pit a couple weeks ago and have really been enjoying having smores with the kids at night!
We have an area in the back yard that DH turned into Jones Beach (yes, to be confused with the amphitheater, LOL). He told me one day he was going to build a fire pit and I guess I didn't have a grasp of what he meant b/c I was surprised when he showed up with the excavator from work, a ton of cement, and a whole dump truck filled with sand from the golf course sandtraps that they were cleaning out.
Its about 12' across with a stone fire pit area in the middle and it's even got brick all through the bottom under about 6" of sand. It's really nice, I'll have to get a picture and show you guys
We do the campfire thing if we're camping (which we haven't done this summer yet). My parents have a fire pit. I love s'mores - and I have yet to have one this summer! Things have been busy so I don't know if/when we'll get to that...
