Are there certain toys or games that you won't allow in your house?
For instance, we won't allow the Bratz dolls, the girls actually got a few for their birthday and they were promptly "lost" oops.

I'm super strict with their toys and activities. Basically, nothing electronic and limited tv time. We usually watch one episode of Calliou in the morning, but after that, the tv is turned off. I try to avoid anything that's made of plastic as it almost always breaks within a few weeks which is a waste of money and resources.

They get overloaded with toys at Christmas from family and I throw stuff out I don't like *shrug* for example, dollar-store version of moon sand? No, thanks. They got at least 3 boxes of games from the dollar store and I got rid of them. Otherwise, nothing has come up.. YET. I won't allow Sebastian to play with toy guns, but I am okay with water guns. Probably no Bratz dolls either for the girls, but Barbies are ok. We haven't had anyone give them Bratz dolls yet.

I pretty much let him play with whatever toys he has. He's very much into transformers and Legos so he plays with them almost all day. I do let him watch a couple of hours of tv everyday. And he has toy guns that he plays with. I'm perfectly fine with it. He also goes outside to play after dinner with dh if it's not too hot or raining. The baby isn't a fan of the heat or sun so his time outside has been limited this summer because it's been soooo hot.

Definitely no Bratz dolls. Or what's that other one - Monster High? Those look nasty too.

Cooper has way too many toys! I generally don't like him playing with guns (with the exception of water squirters and squirt guns). He got a GI Joe that had a gun that we took away.
Besides that I'm not too particular.

No slutty dolls. Whether they be Bratz or another brand. They aren't allowed anything SpongeBob either b/c he sucks at life and I hate him. LOL
Keller doesn't have any gun but he does have water squirters and he has a Mater call that has missiles on the sides, which Keller calls "shoots". I have to say though, if a kid wants to play guns he'll make one out of anything!

We are anti-gun, so Jack doesn't have any. WE have let the family know and they respect that.
Saying that he did get a water gun on vacation this year. He was having some issues and we went toy shopping to pick up his mood, he really wanted a water gun to play at the lake.

I used to be anti-toy-gun...but Emily is right, they'll make a gun out of ANYTHING. So instead, I just teach him that he never points/shoots at people, only targets, unless it's a water shooter.

I am not a huge fan of sponge bob either. So none of that! LOL Otherwise he can play with anything. I try to make any toy into a lesson. So whether that be toy guns or dolls Donovin knows how to use them properly otherwise it gets put away.

I also don't allow Bratz or Monster High dolls. They will make a gun out of anything, but since she will be trained with real ones I don't let her use them against other people. She knows what flagging is etc.

I don't let my kids watch Sponge Bob, but they had some toys from a happy meal or something and I didn't care.
I can't think of any real restrictions that we have. I buy 95% of their toys, so I can pick and choose what I want them to have anyway. I'm not a fan of the Bratz dolls either, but they've never gotten any as gifts thankfully. I do let them play with Barbies and toy guns. They have nerf guns and water guns. My kids have never been picky on gender based toys either...Matt plays with the Barbies and the girls play with the GI Joes and other actions figures. They all like playing together I guess, so they switch between "girl" and "boy" toys.

Bratz or Monster High dolls will not be found in our house. I also haven't allowed Barbie in either. I probably will in a few years but that will have to wait.
I'm right there with Julia on the cheap dollar store things. My mom always brings the girls stuff from there. I've told her I appreciate it but don't waste your money.
It just breaks and then I'm left with all this garbage and a kid that is mad b/c their toy broke.

This.
We didn't allow guns until he just made so many that I let someone else get him some, and set rules about how to play with them.
Bow & arrows is the next thing that he wants and constantly makes out of household stuff. I won't let him have the set in the store b/c even though it's plastic, it just looks dangerous and says for 8+. I told him after he's 8 we'll consider it. Although, we did find a tiny nerf-type one this summer in a convenience store of all places and I let him get it.
Generallly I don't let him have the big nerf-type guns and anything that could be sharp or stick in someone's eye.

Ava doesn't like Barbies so we don't have to worry about Bratz. I really have no restrictions. I don't love toy guns but none of my children have asked for one.

Ady loves Legos, and flashcards. She has her VTech toys that we gave her but no guns, and no Bratz dolls. They are creepy looking. She loves to play with toy trains and such plus Transformers. But she knows that if it has a gun she puts it in the junk drawer. I do let her play with her lightsaber though. Lol!
