Hi! I'm Melanie. I've never been around here so I will introduce myself. I am 19, a SAHM to Audrey Jane (almost) 7 months old, and wife to Jesse. I'm bored all the time and I hate my daughter's bedding. It was purchased for me for my baby shower and it was not the one I registered for. I kept it and used it anyway, because I didn't want to hurt the giver's feelings. But, I'm sick of it now and frankly don't care!

I'm thinking about making a new set myself. I did a baby quilt in middle school by hand and it took a few days, but it turned out really cute. So, I know I could do the quilt without problems. I have a plain pink fitted sheet that I can use for it and can easily find fabrics to match. My only problem would be the bumper and the crib skirt.

Do any of you have any experience or patterns that you could share? I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Melanie!!! Sorry I don't have much advice on the crib bedding set . Maybe you could just recover the old bumper with a new fabric??? Or maybe bleach out the crib skirt and dye it a new color. I haven't sewed anything in a really long time but I'm sure someone else will have some suggestions. Don't you just love it when you make a registery and then people get you what they want anyway. Take some pic's when you get it done we would all love to see it.

Thanks so much for the advice! I went out and bought some fabric that I love! What do you think?

I ended up buying a baby crib set pattern, so that will help me out alot. The paisley is going to be the front of the quilt. The darker pink on the bottom will be the back. The ribbon I'm going to pleat and sew into the seam of the two fabrics around the edges. The stripes will be the valance and the bumpers. The lighter pink will be the skirt. I'm keeping some of the striped material for the edges.

Do you think it can all work together? I'm going for sassy/spunky cool.
