My mom told me a few weeks ago she wants me to make her a sweater......one of those long ones that button down the front and has the tie around the waist band.......I crocheted myself one of these last winter and really liked how it turned out but I decided that if I made one for my mom I wanted to knit it, just because I feel it would look better and be kinda a higher quality like the ones you can buy in the stores. I want to get started on this by Monday and have been looking online for free patterns and going crazy trying to find one that would keep my mind interested. I hate doing patters that are row after row of the same boring knit stitch and what not. I'm a big fan of cables but not perfect at them either.

Does anyone know of any good patterns out there? Even if its one I have to pay for I guess that would be ok since most are pretty cheap......I'm searching Knitting Pattern Central right now and I looked at the Lion Brand website which had a few that were ok but kinda boring.

Also I found one that I like here http://www.caron.com/projects/q/autumn_red_coat.html
but do you think I could convert that to have more than the one button? I like that its more detailed and would keep me interested. I have an issue with starting projects and not finishing them because they get boring.

I really wish I could learn how to make my own patterns because then I could do what I want and whats in my head but I'm not very good at writing them myself and really want this to be something nice for my mom.

Sorry Faye I'm just learning to knit so I'm not sure if you could convert it to more then one button or not. Are you on Raverly Faye because there are tons of knitters and patterns on there and I'm sure someone could help you out with that over there.
So how is the pregnancy going ? Any names picked out?

Ive actually never heard of Raverly do you have a link or something so I can check it out? I'm actually kinda a beginner myself to be honest I teach myself everything I know so I'm one of those people who just knit as I go and hope it turns out right. I don't know too much about knitting I'm better at crocheting.

The pregnancy is going great actually.......Kinda surprised at how "boring" it has been compared to things in my past but you know all that lol. Her name is actually going to be Shyann Marie. DH kinda picked it out but Ive grown to love it.

I hope things are going good with you!!
