I used to cross-stitch years ago. I just got a sewing machine for Christmas and I'm working on learning how to sew and quilt. I'm pretty much starting from scratch. My mom and great grandmother quilted so that's my primary goal. My DH is a nurse so I want to learn how to sew so I can make scrubs for him. Also my DSD's left arm only extends to right below her elbow. I'd love to be able to take up her shirts to fit comfortably and make her clothes.
DSD wanted a doctor outfit (scrubs) so I just made her a pair of scrub pants in her size. They aren't great but I think I did okay for my first attempt. I haven't tried the top yet. I just also made my first 9 square for quilting. I'm going to make her a small quilt for her dolls before using the beautiful fabric I bought for a wall hanging.
It makes me feel so creative and jazzed just looking at fabrics and patterns & imagining all the things I could do if I can learn how to sew. I'm trying to start small and work my way up so I don't get frustrated and quit
Yea! I finished my first project This is my DSD's dolly quilt.
