This was my first attempt and I think it turned out pretty good. I'm doing an owl themed party for Abri's first birthday. I ordered a custom appliquéd owl diaper cover since we use cloth diapers that matches her invitations. I decided to make a tutu and appliquéd shirt to go with it all. I haven't started the shirt, but I finished the tutu this afternoon. The magenta and brown tulle has glitter on it. I didn't make the tulle very long so it definitely sticks straight out away from the waistband, but it'll be pretty cute on. As soon as I finish the shirt, I'll get pics of her wearing it all.

And here's the whole ensemble. I got the appliqué done in just a few hours. I had never done one before, but i think it turned out pretty cute

Very cute, it turned out great! My 3.5yo DD takes dance lessons, and I've been wanting to make her a couple tutus for a while now, just have never gotten around to it I guess.
