I just wanted to introduce myself, seeing as I've taken up knitting again!

I'm Emma (27), Mummy to Gaby (4 1/2) & Emersyn (almost 10mo)... I have dabbled a bit in knitting, I'm not overly talented, but can follow a basic pattern. right now I"m knitting Emersyn a woolen soaker (for over cloth diapers) & have just finished knitting a scarf for miss Gaby...

Hi Emma Welcome to Arts & Crafts. Can't wait to see pictures of your scarf and soaker.

I'm Kristen (30), married to Eric (35) and mommy to Leo (2.5). Knitting is just about the one craft that I don't do. I'm not coordinated enough. I loom knit, crochet, cross-stitch, needlepoint, paint ceramics and dabble in a bunch of other crafts.

Please add yourself to the April Roll Call and check out the rest of the board

thanks for the welcome! I should have added I do cross stitch too, although I haven't physically done one for years now

Welcome! What pattern are you using for the diaper soaker? I taught myself to knit this winter for that specific purpose.

the pattern is actually out of a really old school knitting book, called 'The Family Knitting Book', published in 1980... Copyright is Lyric Pattern Services Ltd...

here's a photo of the picture from the book

I don't know if they'll actually function properly as a soaker, but if they're a bit loose I can still use them over a pocket diaper or something as a little extra protection overnight
