ok, so what you're looking at the first step in my two-part project for my daughter (the colors are MUCH brighter in person, it's midnight here and the lighting in my room sucks). step two: paint her name in the center in black.

my question: what font should i use? should i go girly, to offset the black? i love english glothic type, but i'm afraid it'll be too heavy with such a playful background. any input is welcome.

her name is Yvonne, so there's a lot of room for letter fanciness.

Is she old enough to tell you what she likes? If not then I would just go with what you like.

I would go for something whimsical for that background. Cute project!
