Well, we are now settled into the hospital room and Joey is not happy with it. So far our adventure has been annoying more than anything. When we arrived at the ER I told them that he is accessed with a 1/2 inch huber needle, they insisted on using a 3/4 inch. Yea, that didn't last. By the time we got into a room we had to reaccess him. NO FUN! Then the whole ordeal with his food. Yea, again, problems getting him food. Breakfast went fine but come lunch there was no tray for him. Finally at 2 PM he had a tray after I demanded to see nutrition services supervisor. The supervisor was amazing though! He not only brought up Joey's tray (and while waiting a tray was brought up for Joey so now he had 2 trays) he also decided mommy and daddy needed to eat and brought up something for us as well and popsicles for the older kids. Daddy had gone to see grampa so me and the big kids went on "Pirate Adventures" We painted treasure maps, sailed the high seas, and took over a passing ship. Lots of fun. We ended our adventures with a search for the buried treasure of Pirate Joey, and found the popsicles.
Joey is doing well. His fever finally broke and if he stays fever free and cultures stay negative then he can go home tomorrow.
Thanks you everyone for your prayers and support. We are trying to make the best of this time but we are honestly a bit overwhelmed. We are sick of hospitals. Melanie woke up this morning in an absolute panic that Joey wasn't home (I had gone home to pick daddy and big kids up and she woke up when I got home). Hopefully tomorrow will bring great news and we can bring our Little Warrior home.
