Carter had Hirschsrpings disease pull through repair where they went in and removed part of his large intestine and reattached the "good" section to his colon.
Next he had a double inguinal hernia repair, poor babe!
His last surgery was this past October, he had hypospadias repair which was basically an invasive procedure where they had to rebuild his urethra, it was pretty tough to see him all beat up and bruised in such a sensitive area. He had a catheter in for 2 weeks after that. He may need another surgery for that, but at this time we have no plans for any more surgeries.
He was also born with 2 holes in his heart, but luckily they closed on his own shortly after his first birthday so we are good there!
Left Side Testicle removed (still in the abdomen, unformed mass)
3 sets of ear tubes
Adenoids & tonsils removed
More pic lines and other minor surgeries in the NICU than I could begin to count
Several exploratory (Scopies) and Upper/Lower GIs.
Tongue clipped twice
Surgeries we're facing down the road...
Chest wall reconstruction (appears this might only be partial now, as we've seen some improvement in the past year). This might include shoulder, we're not sure yet.
Teeth for various issues
Likely feet/ankle for malformation.
Constant monitoring of his hips for displacement associated with his CP and malformation.
Potential issue with his Hydronephrosis, though we've dodged that bullet up until now.
attempted PICC line placement in OR
Surgeries planned in future:
Possible removal of remaining LCH mass (risky because its near the heart so we hope to avoid)
Possibility of a GI biopsy (being discussed at this time though not sure why)
