Craziness!

I bring Justin to ST on Monday's.
Nathen gets ST at school and I see no improvement since he has been in ST at school. There therapies suck. I am not complaining about the therapist but the quality of the therapy stinks. Nathen needs one on one. I found an organazation that does ST by income (10,15,20) I am soooo happy because his insurance doesn't cover it. But its a different location then Justin's, actually 2 cities away But he needs it BAD. So, I have to do it.
Now Chloe is getting evaluated by Early Steps next week for ST because she says maybe 5 words. I am going to have to bring her ST now too.

I am just sooooo overwhelmed. Somewhere I need to start Justin back in OT too. When do we get to spend a summer doing fun things?? Its always what we need to do (dr. therapies) and never what we want to do.

I can totally relate on the only doing what "needs" to be done instead of what we would like to do. Just know that you are not alone

That stinks! I hope you can find something that works...and I hope your therapists work with you! I know mine have said in the future, when he's older, they would like to do some sessions out at the playground, or even in the back yard, just to get out and make it a little more fun.

((Hugs!!)) I have two kids needing therapy and I feel overwhelmed, so I can't imagine adding one more! You are a super-momma!! I think its wonderful that you're willing to travel so far for what your children need. I would try contacting people and see if you can get the therapies synchronized by days/times/places. It may take a few months to get it where you want it, but it may work!!

I'm going to *try* doing that too when we get started with all Ava's therapies.

ETA: Christian get ST and OT weekly at school, but I don't think it helps much either. We goes to Childrens for one-on-one and it has done so much!

Good luck, hon!

That IS a lot of running around. Our EI, too, said that older kids get to be on the playground, in a pool, etc., instead of just sitting on the floor somewhere. They try to make the OT playtime instead of work, and try to make it age-appropriate. Maybe you could have them do that? And maybe meet halfway. I'm sorry-our OTs come to the house! It saves us so much time and hassle! I do hope that you can get a coordinating schedule.

You're doing a great job, though! I know that it's so overwhelming, but you're managing so well! I hope that you guys can find a way to make it fun-summertime=pooltime, so maybe?
