Last night while playing with his siblings, Joey's right lung collapsed again. Traci picked up on the change in his breathing quickly and called 911. He is now back in CHOC in the PICU. It's early there, but I will be calling her in a bit to check on her and Joey. I'll let you know as soon as I hear more.
UPDATE 1pm EST:
They are moving Joey to Oncology. Not sure if he's going to OICU or the regular oncology unit. Traci is still waiting to see a doctor today. She did say she caught it early and that it was not a full lung collapse.
Please keep the whole family in your prayers. Her sister is having open-heart surgery today as well. David cried himself to sleep last night and Melanie just doesn't understand--to her, this is normal.
Thanks to Jaidynsmum for my siggy!

JOey is doing well, and we are waiting for an x-ray now to check his lung. We are making ourselves feel "at home" again since we will stay here for round 2, which starts monday. And we are talking with the doctors about what to do about his lungs, but after hearing what Dr MCClain has to say (best LCH doctor in the country) we are not allowing the lung fusion at this time.
My sister is also doign well. They got through the surgery well, found 2 addition defects and repaired them, and last night she came off the ventilator.
Thank you ladies, all of you for the support during this. I would be a basketcase without it. If anyone wants to be able to call for updates, just send me a PM and I will give you my number, or you can call us at CHOC hospital (Orange, CA) room 318. I rarely have the energy to type it all out over and over again.
