Is there anything you do to make these stays easier?

I ask for a laptop. And just try to make things comfortable. The hospital itself doesn't work with us though

to the laptop, but at base its hit or miss. I also bring my own pillows, and the boys bring their own pillow and blankets. I usually bring a book or two for the down time when the boys are sleeping, and board games, coloring books and the like for the boys and i to do things together

I also try to bring items from home. Joey has his blanket, his teddy, and a few of his own toys. We cycle through toys so that some new toys come every few days and old toys go home, and we ask for toys from the playroom.

Movies. We "check out" movies from child life, new ones each time.

Our own pillows. Lots of art stuff. I ask for music and art therapy. Yea, Joey is young but he loves to finger paint and he loves the music guy who comes in.

And if Joey is napping and no meds are due I will go for a walk, go outside and get some air. While he's napping its a break and a time for me to take care of me...
