Labs (which are done through a simple fingerprick and Joey did not cry at all) are good, for the most part. His WBC and ANC are UP, his platelets are "good", but his hemoglobin is low so he goes tomorrow for a transfusion.
Today will probably be the last day we have to give him the Neupogen shot this round. Tomorrow they will run labs one more time to be sure.
They have not compared to previous scans yet... HOWEVER it appears to be inproved. There is no mention of the mediastinal mass that I can see, but I could be wrong. There are still nodules on the lungs, however it also seems improved from previous reports. Old reports always said "numerous nodules" and gave sizes of bigger ones. This report said "a few tiny nodules". So far it does sound better. However it also mentioned "mild intrahepatic biliary dialation". So I need to find out what that means.
So still lots of questions, still active disease HOWEVER it is improved from the looks of it. And it also looks like his liver may be clear of active disease.
I will post more on the scans when we know more. For now, we will be grateful for improvement and trust God to heal Joey fully.
Well I hope you get some good news, you and Joey deserve it.
I think of you often!
I read the mild intrahepatic biliary dialation has something to do with the gallbladder, but does not sound bad.
Thanks for the update.
IHBD is a condition where something is blocking the bile ducts, which can cause damage to the portal vein if not fixed. They did not see any signs of something blocking the bile ducts so they are seeing if previous scans showed this issue, and if so it could be attributed to the disease in his liver.
Glad the labs aren't too hard on Joey, finger pricks are better (JMHO). Sorry about him needing the transfusion, how does he feel about that? Does he understand? How are you?
Glad to hear that the scans show that it's better. I hope the numerous nodules means a good thing, and nothing worrisome. Gosh, I worry so much for you guys. I don't know how you do it Traci, you are such a strong mommy, you need a reward & a serious day for YOU. I am praying for you all.
