Amazon.com: A Different Kind of Perfect: Writings by Parents on Raising a Child with Special Needs (9781590303078): Cindy Dowling: Books

I just picked this book up a week ago, started reading it today, and already...wow. Unlike a lot of books out there about having a child with special needs, this one is just a collection of parents' stories, and in just the first few I've smiled, cried, and had this huge sense of "yes, they GET it" that I've so rarely found elsewhere.

Just wanted to share! Like I said, I've barely begun it, but it's already really touched me.

I'd love to read it when I get the chance! My book-want list got so long that I'm starting over. This is now number 1, and a book I heard about today is number 2. Much shorter...I'm sure it will get too long again without me having started on number 1, but I can hope, yes?

"All Cats Have Asperger's" and "All Dogs Have ADHD" were really cute. Not so much of reading books as short coffee table books that can give a laugh
