This was posted on the host board this morning and I wanted to pass it along about docsmomma's son:
Joey is an oncology patient and fevers are very bad. Tonight he spiked a fever of 102.6 and they have been instructed to bypass the ER; he is being automatically admitted. Please keep Joey and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Pray for NO blood infection. Pray that his stay is short and that he recovers quickly.
Update: 3/22 @ 8:35am EST
Traci called the doctor came in and woke her up at 5am (Pacific) to tell her Joey has RSV. This is VERY bad. Joey has extensive lung damage from the LCH that makes RSV incredibly dangerous. I don't know the plan of action at the mom--other than they may be moving him to PICU. I'll let you know as I find out more.
Update: 3/22 @ 10:30am EST
Joey will not be moved to PICU unless he begins having trouble breathing. It looks as though he may be in the hospital for approximately two weeks. He is on isolation and Traci is fighting them to allow a different gown for her because she is allergic to isolation gowns. Good news is, they are going to allow David and Melanie to visit Joey because they have already been exposed.
